The Larkya North Peak Climbing with Manaslu Circuit is a demanding Himalayan adventure that blends high-altitude trekking with an exhilarating technical peak ascent. The journey circles Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth-highest mountain on Earth, before culminating in the climb of Larkya North Peak at 6,249 meters. This expedition delivers a rare combination of wilderness trekking, cultural immersion, and alpine mountaineering.
The route begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the lower Budhi Gandaki valley. From here, the trail steadily climbs through terraced farmland, dense forests, and deep river gorges. Remote villages such as Jagat, Namrung, and Lho reveal the strong Tibetan cultural influence of the region, where ancient monasteries, mani walls, and prayer flags line the trail.
As the trek progresses toward Samagaon and Samdo, the landscape transforms dramatically. Forested hills give way to wide alpine valleys framed by glaciers and towering peaks. Along the way, trekkers enjoy sweeping views of Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II. The journey also provides opportunities to explore high mountain lakes and visit centuries-old monasteries.
Beyond Dharmasala, the expedition shifts from trekking to mountaineering. Climbers move onto glacier terrain and establish a high camp before attempting the summit of Larkya North Peak. Although considered a trekking peak, the climb involves snow slopes, crevasses, and rope work, offering an excellent challenge for climbers seeking a technical Himalayan objective.
From the summit, a vast panorama unfolds across the Manaslu and Annapurna ranges. After the climb, the journey continues over the dramatic Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), one of Nepal's most spectacular high passes, before descending through alpine meadows to Bhimthang and the Annapurna region.

CUSTOMIZE MY TRIPThe best seasons for Larkya North Peak climbing are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months the skies are usually clear, mountain views are exceptional, and climbing conditions on the peak are more stable.
This expedition requires several permits including the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit, Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP), Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP), and the Larkya North Peak climbing permit issued by the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
This is a demanding high‑altitude trek and climb suitable for experienced trekkers with good physical conditioning. Prior experience with crampons, ice axes, and rope techniques is strongly recommended.
Most travelers can obtain a Nepal visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Visitors should ensure their passport is valid for at least six months and carry passport photos for the visa application.
The lower valleys are mild and humid, while higher elevations can be cold and windy. Temperatures near the summit and high passes often drop below freezing, especially at night, so proper cold-weather gear is essential.
