The Everest Panorama Trek is one of the finest short trekking adventures in Nepal’s Khumbu region. Designed for travelers who want to witness Mount Everest and its surrounding giants without trekking all the way to Base Camp, this route offers an inspiring introduction to the Himalayas. Over less than two weeks, the trail leads through vibrant Sherpa settlements, forested valleys inside Sagarmatha National Park, and legendary viewpoints overlooking the world's highest mountains.
Your journey begins with a thrilling mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. From here, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi River through picturesque villages such as Phakding and Monjo before climbing toward the bustling trading hub of Namche Bazaar. This lively mountain town is the cultural heart of the Sherpa community and offers spectacular views of snow-covered peaks.
After acclimatizing in Namche, trekkers hike to the famous Everest View Hotel, one of the highest luxury hotels in the world, where panoramic views stretch across Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The journey continues to the beautiful village of Tengboche, home to the region’s most important Buddhist monastery, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks.
Beyond the dramatic scenery, the trek provides meaningful cultural encounters. Traditional Sherpa homes, spinning prayer wheels, colorful monasteries, and fluttering prayer flags line the route. Visiting Khumjung village allows trekkers to see the historic monastery and the school founded by Sir Edmund Hillary.
With moderate daily walking and comfortable tea house accommodations, the Everest Panorama Trek is ideal for first-time Himalayan trekkers, families, or anyone with limited time. It delivers the magic of Everest—majestic mountain views, rich Sherpa culture, and unforgettable Himalayan landscapes—within a manageable and rewarding itinerary.

CUSTOMIZE MY TRIPThe Everest Panorama Trek is best enjoyed during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these months the weather is generally stable and skies are clear, offering excellent mountain views. Spring brings blooming rhododendron forests, while autumn provides crisp air and exceptional visibility. Winter trekking is also possible with colder temperatures, while summer monsoon months bring rain and cloud cover.
Trekkers must obtain two permits to enter the Everest region: the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit. These permits help support conservation efforts and maintain trekking infrastructure in the region.
This trek is considered moderate and suitable for beginners with good general fitness. Daily walks average 4–6 hours on mountain trails with gradual ascents and descents. Preparing with regular walking, hiking, or cardio exercise for a few weeks before the trek will greatly improve comfort and enjoyment.
Most travelers can obtain a Nepal tourist visa upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Visitors should carry a passport valid for at least six months and passport-sized photos. Visa fees vary depending on the duration of stay.
Temperatures in the Everest region vary depending on altitude and season. Days are typically mild and sunny during trekking seasons, while nights can be cold, especially above 3,000 meters. Proper layering and warm clothing are recommended to remain comfortable throughout the trek.
