The Chulu West Peak Climbing with Annapurna Circuit Trek blends one of Nepal’s most celebrated trekking routes with an exhilarating Himalayan summit. Rising to 6,419 meters above the Manang Valley, Chulu West is one of the most prominent trekking peaks in the Annapurna region. Combining the ascent with the classic Annapurna Circuit creates an adventurous journey through diverse landscapes, remote mountain culture, and high alpine terrain.
The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu toward the Marsyangdi Valley, where the trail gradually climbs through subtropical forests, waterfalls, and terraced villages. Passing settlements such as Dharapani, Chame, and Upper Pisang, trekkers witness dramatic changes in scenery as the lush hills transition into the arid landscapes of Manang. Along the way, towering Himalayan peaks like Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Lamjung Himal dominate the skyline.
Manang serves as an essential acclimatization stop before the expedition moves toward the Chulu West climbing route. From the valley floor, the trail leads to base camp and high camp across rugged moraine, glaciers, and snow slopes. With the guidance of experienced climbing leaders, the summit push rewards climbers with extraordinary views across the Annapurna massif, the Chulu range, and distant peaks of the Tibetan plateau.
After the climb, the journey reconnects with the Annapurna Circuit trail. The route continues toward Thorong Phedi and over the legendary Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters — one of the highest trekking passes in the world. From the windswept pass, trekkers descend into the Mustang region to reach the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists.
Throughout the expedition, trekkers experience the rich culture of Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali communities, explore ancient monasteries, and stay in welcoming mountain teahouses. This combined trekking and climbing journey offers a complete Himalayan experience — from cultural exploration and varied landscapes to the thrill of standing atop a 6,000‑meter summit.
