Lower Everest Trek

9 Days

Trip Introduction:-

If you are looking forward to undertaking a week easy trek to witness Mt. Everest in less
crowded area of Nepal, Pikey Peak Trek will be the best option for you. This spectacular walk
takes us to the top of Pikey Peak located at 4065m and offers us majestic Mt. Everest,
Dhaulagiri, Numbur Himal and many other neighboring snow covered mountains of Khumbu
region. This trek is considered the most rewarding trek located in lower Everest region. Pikey
Peak Trek also rewards the trekkers with spectacular walk passing through incredible paddy
fields, natural water falls, and deep woods especially rhododendron, holy monasteries and
traditional settlements of Sherpa people.

Pikey Peak Trek is not only popular for its natural highlights but it also offers an opportunity to
acknowledge authentic culture of the local people and taste organic food items. Mostly, you will
encounter with very hospitable Sherpa people and their picturesque traditional hamlets on the
trail. You will marvel at experiencing culture and civilization of Sherpa people. Moreover,
exploring sacred and historical monasteries on the trail will be magnificent moments for the
trekkers during Pikey Peak Trek.

We begin our Pikey Peak Trek from Dhap after a long hours drive from Kathmandu. Walking
via lush rhododendron, oak and pine forest and various beautiful traditional settlements , we
arrive at the top of the Pikey Peak and celebrate stunning sunrise and mountain peaks including
Mt. Everest , the top of the world. Next, exploring Junbesi, a beautiful settlement of Sherpa
people and monastery, we trek back to Phaplu and drive or fly back to Kathmandu to end our
Pikey Peak Trek.

Since Pikey Peak Trek is an easy trek, people who are planning to do a week trekking in less
touristic area of Everest region can do this trek. You do not require prior trekking/hiking
experience. Just a good level of stamina and confidence will work from this trek. This trek will
be the most rewarding way of witnessing marvelous Mt. Everest without being troubled on the
most populated Everest Base Camp Trekking trail.

Getting to the Trailhead:-

We take a private jeep drive to Dhap from Kathmandu. To get Dhap from Kathmandu, it takes
around 8 hours passing through country settlements, rivers and magnificent landscapes. Mostly,
the drive is along B.P Highway. After we leave B. P. Highway, we drive along the rough country
road till we get Dhap from where we begin our formal walk to Pikey Peak.

Accommodation and Food:-

Trekkers will be having local organic food items and staying overnight at local lodges during
Pikey Peak Trek. Local accommodation and foods doesn’t mean that they are in poor condition.
They will always meet the certain standard to delight the tourists. You will not get the attached
bathrooms but will get the best local accommodation.

Best Weather of the Year:-

Autumn( Sep-Nov) and Spring ( Mar-May) are the two best weathers of the year for PikeyTrek.
However, since it is an easy walk, people can do Pikey Peak Trek all round the year. But, we do not
recommend doing this trek during Monsoon ( Jun-Aug) . The rain will destroy the rural road connection.
